Man on the Moon

Last week I rented the 2009 film Moon directed by Brittish newcomer Duncan Jones.

It stared the highly underrated Sam Rockwell as Sam Bell a worker on a Lunar Space Station that harvests Helium-3, a type of clean fuel. The film is small in scale, so if you are looking for something to hold you over until James Cameron makes Avatar 2, you are looking in the wrong place. The small film has a big message, which is at the heart of "The Twist" of the film. It is a science fiction film that is heavy on the science. The film makes asks a lot of moral and ethical questions as well. Visually, the film is stunning, with cues and references to films like Stanley Kubrick's 2001: Space Odyssey.

These visual cues are even obvious in the trailer which you can watch here.

To see the movie for yourself, buy the DVD on Amazon.

For more visit the film's Official Site.
